Cars in German Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police reported they were contacted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then located multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say early analysis show the fluid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.

City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for information.

A senior official stated the incident left him stunned and had to be resolved promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack five years ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
